Mirror Box
Sounds Like:
Access: Doubt and Trust
A Tech-Rock band with heavy emphasis on synth and strings.
Looks Like:
A flashy cyberpunk that stands out in a crowd. They're also noted for having only instruments that look like guitars-- be it bass, keytar, or actual guitar. They vary in color scheme, between shows, and often between the members themselves. There's a lot of color in the group, from the watermelon-esque guitarist to keytarist with pure white hair and sparkly confetti throughout. The members themselves are known for a very high rating on the bishonen meter.
History:
Ryou Wakamoto (Seiteki) had his career started at a young age as a concert pianist. Though a master over the ivories, Ryou hated classical music and strove for a sound much farther from it. The natural opposite of old and classic would be tech and futuristic, and so he swapped the grand piano for the keyboard. He adopted the stage name Seiteki (meaning sex) and released one solo disc before meeting his future guitarist Mirza. They took on the name Mirror Box, as Ryou arrogantly declared that their music had the same effect as being trapped inside of a box of mirrors, like in a funhouse. The "mind-numbing infinity of it all" as Ryou calls it, though it would probably take a philosopher to really find the meaning linking the name and their music.
The rhythm to their music is a synthetic beat pre-programmed into the keytar-synth, because the band lacks a drummer.
Popularity Level:
Mirror Box currently claws at the bottom of the top 40 charts, being still new and unheard of. Ryou, despite an attitude that would suggest otherwise, actually had a rather small fanbase when it came to his solo music, and virtually no rollover from his concert days. Together with his band, he continues to strive for more attention, desperately searching for a label to save them from their indie hell.

Real Name: Wakamoto Ryou (若本 涼)
Nickname(s): Seiteki, Waka-chan (never call him this)
Age: 21
Occupation: Ex-concert pianist, full-time Keytarist.
Appearance:
Ryou is tall, at 6' even. He has the basic build of a dreamy bishonen type, a masculine musculature shaped to an effeminate frame. His jaw is defined to the point of making him clearly a man, but his soft skin and round features tend to argue otherwise. His eyes are a shiny royal purple, or brown under the contact lenses. His skin is an unsunned pale, and his eyebrows are slim and still rather brown in comparison to his pure snow-white hair. His hair is almost always gelled, with a sort of duck-butt spiking on the back. His hair is straight in front, with long bangs to get in the way of his vision. His hair gel is sparkly, making his head shimmer when he stands in the light (especially under stage light). It's usually white sparkles, but he's been known to decorate his tips with other colors as well. He's also been known to make dramatic head motions for the sake of letting loose a shower of sparkles. He love to wear them on his face to match his makeup, and his lips are a very obvious vibrant dark red, a stark contrast to absolutely everything else on his body.
He has two piercings in the top of his left ear, small silver hoops to loop around the cartilage. He also wears a diamond stud in his right nostril. He has two slim rings (one gold one silver) around the middle and ring fingers of his left hand. Not for any particular meaning, however. He also has a silver Rolex, with custom purple numbering.
Instrument:
The Keytar
Personality:
Ryou is self-obsessed, but not damagingly so. He views himself as a prince, and believes, as a default, that everyone loves him. He's arrogant but not cocky, and usually keeps his ego to himself unless it's provoked. He doesn't brag because he feels his good points are obvious anyways. But he's not the kind of person it's easy to bother, because if you're angry at him, he rarely understands that. If you're sad, he never thinks it was himself who caused it. In terms of his own emotions, he's usually a cool sort of happy-go-lucky. He's easily frightened, but he tries to keep that fact under the rug. His aspirations of grandeur stem from his desire to be in the public eye, and because he believes the public with benefit from his popularity. He's really obvious about how he's feeling, and it's written all over his face. He's also a bit superstitious.
Likes:
Techno, Rock and Pop music. Short boys, glitter, and grape jelly. Peanut butter and jelly made on pumpernickel.
Dislikes:
Classical music and Oldies. Old people. Wrinkles. Men taller than he is. Glasses, especially with thick frames. Mice and other small furry things (including squirrels and rabbits, live ones). Afraid of the dark, cramped places, and the middle of large crowds. Hates cracked sidewalks.
Influences/Favorite Bands:
Access (as inspiration), Flow, L'arc en Ciel, and a bit of Kraftwerk.
History:
Ryou was raised by wealthy parents who payed little to no attention to him. He was given a nurse, a tutor, and a piano instructor, and was raised in the art of Beethoven until age 13. At the dawn of high school, he chose to forsake his tutor and entered public school where he encountered techno music for the first time. He fell in love with rock and tech, and especially anything with the synth. He'd just begun his career as a concert pianist, and with the success of that, he dropped out of high school at age 16. He grew increasingly unamused by classical tunes, however, and gave up his parent's choice of lifestyle for him in favor of music that would appeal to people under 65.
He was groomed in every way from birth for public life and to be a beautiful person. It was likely that his parents had expected him to become a politician (his father had roots in the senate), but were not opposed to his music career until he gave up classical. He was 17 by the time he started on his synth-fuled solo album, using his savings from the concerts (because his parents would no longer support it) and releasing his songs onto the internet prior to the CD release for a dollar a piece in order to release the disc itself. Sales were phenomenal for a first-go indie artist, but laughable compared to sales from artists with record labels. Regardless, he began to receive fanmail slightly before the CD release date, and continued to after that point. He actually met his guitarist through fan mail, his first real reply to any fan message, because he'd been looking for other instrumentalists at the time. Mirza had chosen a good day to tell Ryou he played guitar. He met the guitarist outside of his high school one day, and the rest was history.
Home:
Ryou still lives primarily with his parents in their mansion. It's inside a gated community with a private beach on the coastline of Japan. He has his own makeshift recording studio inside one of the home's many rooms, which was the place Mirror Box recorded everything up until it secured a record label.
Relationships:
Mirza- His guitarist, who's relationship with Ryou is currently up in the air. Ryou isn't entirely sure whether to see him as a little brother, a band mate, a friend, or a fuckbuddy. As of now, he hasn't seriously laid hands on the spunky college student-- yet.
Additional Information:
Hates his last name. In order to be polite, it's best to call him by his stage name, because he slammed the last person to call him 'Wakamoto-san' into the asphalt. On that note, Ryou is particularly nonathletic, and is far more commonly slapping people than punching them. He's by no stretch of the imagination strong, but you can't just knock him down, either.

Real Name: ASAKI Tatsuya (朝基 竜也)
Nickname(s): Miru, Mi-chan
Age: 18
Occupation: College Student, first-year
Appearance:
Mirza is 5'7" with a slender, rather petite build. He's soft-looking, lacking most of the angles that other men have, but not completely. He has pale skin, with a little Asian glow to it that gives him the appearance of health.
His jet hair is long, below-shoulder-length, streaked with whatever colors he's in the mood for. He likes blue, and sometimes goes with silver if he wants to be "subdued". He always wears blue contacts (or whatever color suits his current theme, like pink or green), rarely ever going with his natural black.
Clothing-wise, Mirza enjoys anything oshare kei. He's always wearing cute things (usually in shades of blue, pink, and black) that are lightweight and show a little skin. He often exposes his abdomen, arms, and legs. He always wears a ton of accessories, like multicolor bracelets, rings, and chokers. His ears are pierced in multiple places (three on each side) and he has a navel piercing as well. He tends to wear platform shoes/boots to make up for his lack of height.
He tends to apply too much makeup, especially around his eyes, which isn't so strange in his business. Even at school he can be seen in brightly colored eyeshadow and heavy black eyeliner, his small lips plumped up with a heavy amount of lipgloss. The only thing he doesn't use except in shows is foundation, finding his skin is fine without it (the way it wasn't in middle/high school).
Instrument:
His main/favorite: Andreas "Shark" electric guitar.
Shockingly metallic blue (as it's his favorite color) with silver trim.
Personality:
Miru is rarely found without a smile! Mirza enjoys life immensely, taking in the small joys that life has to offer, perhaps overdoing it, but at least he's happy. He tends to talk a lot when he's excited about things and people, and since he seems to find everyone exciting, he talks all the time.
He's sometimes insecure about himself (his abilities, his looks, etc.), but he tries to shrug off his problems so he doesn't stress out, especially when he knows his band depends on him to do well, and he always wants to please others. On this note, Mirza doesn't often put himself first. Even if he doesn't know someone, he will try his best to put their thoughts and wishes before his own. He likes to give others presents but doesn't feel he deserves anything in return.
He doesn't get angry very often, but when he does, he whines quite annoyingly. When depressed, he's unusually quiet, and keeps to himself while he worries about it. He doesn't like to talk to others about his problems because he doesn't want to burden them with such things.

Dislikes:
Public transportation, driving, being teased, being laughed at, being yelled at, waking up early in the morning, smelly people, tongue kissing (it's "icky" but he sort of likes it anyway), award-winning movies (they never make sense to him), poetry, girls with tacky makeup, vitamin drinks, meanies, bald heads.
Influences/Favorite Bands:
An Cafe, SuG, Kra, Kaya
History:
Tatsuya is an only child, and raised by both mother and father. They were lax in raising him, letting him do as he wished as long as he was well-mannered and polite, but they gave him a lot of love. It was obvious from an early age that he was somewhat feminine, as he preferred playing with dolls and putting on makeup, but that didn't stop him from a lot of boyish hobbies as well (he played a lot of sports).
In his middle and high school years, he was picked on a lot, as he wore braces and had acne, not to mention a constantly bad haircut. It didn't help that he was a little overweight, and he's carried that with him until the present. He took up guitar as a solitary hobby in early middle school.
Towards the end of high school, he dropped quite a bit of weight, did away with the braces, and his face cleared up, revealing quite an attractive boy underneath (well, a boy who looked like a girl). He grew his horrible hair out and learned the wonders of hair dye and makeup. He became a lot more outgoing when he became more confident in himself. At this time he also took up the name Mirza, an internet handle which he also signed to his fan letters to Seiteki.
He's currently in his first year of college, studying hard and majoring in biology of all things.
Home:
He shares a dorm room with Riel.
Relationships:
Seiteki: Mirza thinks Ryou is a little intimidating sometimes because of the way they met. Being a fan and then suddenly becoming his other bandmate and perhaps friend never really hit him; he's still sort of in fanmode when it comes to Ryou. Either way, he always desires to be better friends with him.
Additional Information:
• He collects lipgloss.
• Often mistaken for a girl, even out of makeup and costume.
• He wanted to be a princess when he grew up.
• His English blows.
