Real Name: Hisao Ueda (first, last)
Nickname(s): Hisa is it, for now.
Age: 18
Occupation: Beauty supply store (salons and the like) clerk; student (English/American Language and Literature)
Appearance:
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 132
Eye color: Dark brown
Hair color: Naturally dark brown; dyed deep red w/ hot pink over bleached streaks
-- Length: Uneven bangs, shoulder length on the sides, long in the back
Skin color: Healthy tan
Hisao knows he’s short--but not that short. He claims it helps him stay looking young. (Uh, what? He’s only eighteen.)
His daily hairstyle ends up being bangs and sides down with the back part of his hair up in a high bun, gelled hair sticking out. Sometimes, he’ll replace the neat bun with some much messier bun. Usually when he’s lazy or studying.
While a somewhat stereotypical J-rocker would be imagined wearing visual kei or enough leather to make you think they must have killed an entire field of cows… Hisao isn’t really into either. His main clothing style is industrial fashion: think steampunk without the Victorian touch. Military-esque. However, to change it up a little [sometimes], he’ll dive into some visual kei or feminine clothes, or maybe just… anything else. Like Hello Kitty.
Instrument:
Squier Stratocaster - Candy Apple Red
Squier Strat HSS - Black Metallic
Fender Cyclone II - Daphne Blue
Personality:
Many people’s first impression of Hisao is something like, “Does he inject caffeine into his veins on a daily basis?”
Nah. He’s not that energetic--on bad days. In general, he’s lively and tries to make the people he’s with happy. (Unless, of course, they’re pissing him off.) However, he isn’t one of those people that always “aim to please”. Friends and loved ones get to see his everyday happiness displayed like a billboard. They get nearly everything. Happiness, love, protection… Everything.
Never be surprised if he gives a homeless person some money, either.
But he’s not always this super nice, bubbly, caffeine-high young man. He’s prone to the oh so well known male PMSing fits in a somewhat immature kind of way. If someone upsets him (usually triggered by lies or their own immaturity), he’ll ignore them. While ignoring people when they’re angering you is usually a smart thing to do, he acts closer to a child when that happens. Crossed arms, pouting, et cetera. When he calms down, he’s not exactly proud of the fact that he acts like that, but considers it a sort of reflex and something uncontrollable.
Adding to his immature temper is his jealousy issues. When he has his eyes on someone, he begins to want to be the only one around them. Possessive, but not controlling. He’ll let them choose who to be around, but will end up showing irritation towards the people that “someone” is around. Hisao doesn’t take too kindly to bragging, either. Watch out for that. (And if someone ever tries to
That aside, Hisao’s a dedicated guy. This applies to more than just music. Yes, he dedicates himself to improving his guitar skills and performs the best he’s capable of at that moment. Studies need dedication, too. As well as a lover. Once he’s with someone, he won’t be with anyone else. Cheating will never cross his mind. He’s one damn loyal young man, up until the relationship’s screwed over.
He’s also prone to swearing.
Likes:
Hair products (gel in particular), Mitsuya Cider candy, various fashion subcultures, interpreting literature, finding new tablature to learn, dancing, secretly really likes snowboarding
Dislikes:
Birds (dislike borders on phobia), procrastination, disrespectful people, lying, music that’s slow enough that the only way you can dance to it is by swaying
Influences/Favorite Bands:
Die (of Dir en Grey) is pretty much his hero. Let’s leave it at that for influences.
Favorites? He fell in love with The TRAX when they hit Japan. Antic Café is way up there, too. Also, he rather enjoys listening to Camino, a not very well known J-rock band. Dir en Grey falls under the ‘favorite bands’ category, as well.
With his increasing interest in the English language, thanks to class, he’s been trying to look into foreign-to-Asia bands.
History:
Once upon a time, there was a woman named Madoka and a man named Tsuyoshi. They copulated! (Hisao’s RPer may be shot now.) And eight months later, Madoka gave birth to Hisao. The end.
Right.
This all happened in the grand, northernmost prefecture of Japan--Hokkaido. Hisao’s parents waited a good seven years before having their second and last child, Aiko. He spent the majority of his life in Hokkaido up until the summer break between his last year of middle school and his first year of high school.
He will rarely admit it, but he misses the snow and Hokkaido as a whole. He often went to the Furano and Niseko Grand Hirafu resorts to snowboard, and has vowed to go back at least once every winter, alone or not.
During high school after he moved, Hisao maintained good grades, as he did prior to moving. He was what would be considered a B-student in the U.S., even though he struggled through English. That only made him want to push himself harder to excel in that subject and was, at first, the only reason he dared to take English and American Language and Literature. (However, after starting the class, he found it easier than just learning it in grade school and… a bit more interesting, too.)
Also during his grade school years, Hisao picked up the guitar. (Hey, it had to start sometime.) At first, he didn’t practice too often because of his studies. Some students in his school decided it would be a grand idea to question him about his playing. It was then that he started seriously practicing, if only to keep those students off his back.
Graduation came and past, and he was accepted into the university of his choice. Only now does Hokkaido and the possibility of a career in music cross his mind more often than it should.
Home:
College dorms, alone. (With his pet.)
Relationships:
Family: Mother (Madoka), father (Tsuyoshi), and a little sister (Aiko)
Friends: (Will be listed later.)
Enemies: (Will be listed later.)
Pets: Male tarantula named Kusu. (A shortened version of “kusu kusu”, the Japanese onomatopoeic expression for a giggle.)
Additional Information:
Hisao chooses to keep his room/dorm rather plain. A framed family photo sits on his study desk, and he proudly displays--although in a corner of his bedroom--his three precious guitars. His dorm never looks messy unless he’s absolutely exhausted after coming home.
Few things decorate the walls, aside from a single poster for his favorite bands. His bed is a small, twin-sized day bed. Perfect, in his opinion.
He ignores the fact that it may be odd that even though he’s afraid of birds, he owns a tarantula… and arachnophobia is a common fear.
If he’s in the middle of a conversation and his younger sister calls his cell, whoever he was talking with will be put on in-person hold. He loves his little sis. Obviously.
