Appearance:
Aki's look is rather simple, it all goes down to putting on everything he owns at once. The number of belts he wears would make any cow lover cry tears of blood. There's really no way to label his look as it changes so often. The only thing that remains constant is his naturally pale blond mane and his icy blue eyes. Most people believe that he dyes or uses contacts but he doesn't. The fair features come from his grandmother, a British woman who is the only one of his family that supports his decision to pursue music. His origins influence the way he dresses and behaves. Being rather confused with having a mother who is British and Chinese and a father who is Japanese Aki settled on just mixing all three traditions.

His clothing can at times reflect his mixed background with his mismatched it all is. He can be sporting a kimono with a studded belt, skinny jeans and geta and think he looks perfectly fine. Despite the eccentricity of his method of dressing he does not enjoy wearing make-up. He thinks his face is already feminine enough without it. He despises being mistaken for a girl as it doesn't make sense to him being that he stands at a towering six foot four.

Beyond the clothing there are also his various piercings and tattoos. Being a recovered cutter he uses these methods of self-mutilation to make up for the lack of control he feels in his life. He will get a tattoo on top of a tattoo and not even really know what it is. Right now he can count his number of piercings down to bars in both nipples, snake bites and a tongue bar. He does have his belly button pierced but he often pulls out the jewelry to let the hole close and gets it redone from time to time.

Instrument:
ESP EC-Redburn (guitar)// ESP F-404FM (bass) - these are the two instruments he uses on stage but he owns a vast collection of guitars and basses, most of them from ESP. It is the brand he prefers to use. Though in the studio when he needs to get more speed on his playing he will use a Fender. He also owns a piano and violin, two instruments he was forced to learn as a child and only plays now for hobby purposes.

Personality:
Akihito is first and foremost a prankster. He likes to play jokes on people though will feel extremely guilty if they get hurt. He's the person who'll run down the street naked just to get a laugh out of someone. It can get really annoying as he doesn't quite know when to get serious. He might make you repeat things a few times as he often doesn't listen. He's been cited as possibly having Attention Deficit Disorder; that would fully explain why he's so easily distracted.

On top of things he suffers with mood swings; clinically diagnosed as bi-polar he refuses to take the medication. His behavior is often erratic because of the up and down of his emotions. He can be extremely happy one moment and crying in a corner the next. The medication can fix this but it fixes it a little too well for his liking. He fears that while on the medicine its not really him. It puts him to such a sedated state that he becomes unresponsive. Its a drastic change to his usual hyperactivity.

Despite his mental state Akihito is usually a nice guy to be around. He's friendly and good-natured making him easy to get along with if you get on his good side. He treats people the way they treat him; that eye for an eye ideal. If you're mean to him he's mean to you. Its important to make a good first impression on him if you have to work with him otherwise he'll treat you as if you're no one i.e. pretend you're not in the room. So its best not to make him mad; its a hard thing to do but once he's mad at a person it doesn't change.

Likes:
American 80's music (especially loves Michael Jackson); sweets (adores bean bread and pastries); jumping off of things; amusement parks; trying new things and being the center of attention.

Dislikes:
Sour candies; spicy foods (except curry); underage fan girls groping him; people assuming he's stupid; having his mixed race status brought up// he's afraid that he might end up losing himself to his bi-polar disorder. He has made the mistake once of attempting suicide and to this day regrets it.

Influences/Favorite Bands:
Miyavi; Malice Mizer; X-Japan; Pearl Jam; Smashing Pumpkins - he takes inspiration from all of these and also listens to them frequently. His taste in music is vast and it shows in how he plays his own instruments.

History:
Akihito was born to a Chinese-British woman by a Japanese man. Both parents were part of families with old money thus how they met. It was a merger between business that lead to a marriage. Unfortunately the marriage wasn't really out of love but more out of responsibility. The young bride exchanged her vows while having contractions. After eighteen hours of labor where she wished her new husband a thousand deaths Akihito took his first breath.

There was many hopes put upon the young child before even his birth. He was the reason his mother and father were forced to be adults faster than they wished to be. So they took it out on him by trying to make him perfect. He was forced to play piano and violin and had privileges taken away if any of his grades were average. They wanted him to be a genius at all things he did but Aki just wanted to be a kid. He watched his younger brother get to watch what he wanted on television, play with the toys he wanted while he was forced to study all day. Yet he didn't argue with his parents, it was wrong to disrespect his elders in such a manner. So he did all that was asked of him.

Then everything in his life changed when his father decided to try and expand his company to the United States. Akihito was enrolled to a public school in Manhattan. There he felt free for the first time. His father didn't have much time to pay attention to him and so he was able to do as he pleased. He started playing the guitar finding he was a natural at the instrument; he extended to playing the bass as well. He even made friends that showed him more of the punk scene he'd always secretly followed. All of that was in the open for him now.

With the courage instilled in him by his new friends he finally stood up to his parents and made the choice to skip college and join a band. His parents would have nothing to do with him but with his grandmother's support he was never without anything he needed. And if her money wasn't enough just calling up his parents and threatening to come visit them would get him anything he desired. He joined his first band when he was only seventeen, things didn't go very far but he had fun and that was all that mattered.

Later on he developed Ahoka with his friends and two of his cousins. The band did good enough to put his face in the spotlight. He didn't enjoy it as much as he thought he would have. Akihito really did it all for the music not the money or fame. So when those things were thrown in he found himself bored with it all. It didn't help that his relationship with his band mates was rapidly going South. It all came to a front when two of the band members left and took all the names and rights to Ahoka's music and look with them. Leaving Akihito hanging and searching for the next thing to do. Recently he's just been credited to writing songs for other groups while he searches for a place in an already developed band. He rather not create his own group as he fears it going as bad as Ahoka did.

Home:
Akihito now lives on his own in a gated home in a less populated area of Kyoto.

Relationships:
Family: He is estranged from his father and mother. As soon as they heard he was deciding to pursue music instead of attending medical school like they wished they completely broke ties with him. Akihito often sends them plane and concert tickets for his shows but they have yet to show up. He still speaks with his younger brother despite the bit of anger between them. Akihito following his dream left his brother to have to take up the path his parents wanted for him. His grandmother from his mother's side is the only one who is proud of the choice he has made. She never liked that he did everything his parents told him to without question. She will often show up at his shows.

Romances: Akihito has been in love with the same girl since he was thirteen. He's not comfortable talking about it anymore with how badly the relationship ended. Akihito met the girl of his dreams, Samara, when he moved to America briefly with his family. They became close friends but each time Akihito tried to take the relationship further he was laughed at. Despite that he still remained close to her watching her destroy her life dating his cousin, Hideto, who cared very little for her. When he moved back to Japan she came with him. They put together a band with her as the lead singer, Ahoka. At first it was very hard gaining any recognition with a non-Japanese as the main of the group. With Akihito's support they managed to do well but behind the scenes things were bad. Akihito argued constantly with Hideto. Things only getting worse when Akihito ended up having an affair with the lead singer, at this point Samara and Hideto were married. Samara no longer wanted to deal with all the problems of the music business and just wanted to go to America. Akihito was against it but behind his back Samara and Hideto left taking all the rights of Ahoka with them. Akihito didn't hear from them for a year till Samara suddenly sent him a letter with a picture of a little girl, his daughter. When he tried to write back to the address on the letter he got a return to sender.

Additional Information:
Akihito can speak a good amount of languages fluently including but not limited to Mandarin, Spanish, German and of course Japanese. He dreamed of being a flight attendant as a child so taught himself other languages to help him with this goal. His family ridiculed this idea killing that dream early. He came from a rich home and so that was seen as below him.
